What is the Siemens 3.0T 64-ring PET-MRI?

The Siemens Biograph Vision PET/MR represents the highest level of integrated PET-MRI technology currently available. Its fully digital PET detectors, ultra-fast TOF technology, and advanced Q.Clear reconstruction are seamlessly combined with a top-tier 3T MRI system, providing unparalleled multi-parametric and synchronous imaging capabilities for neuroscience, precision oncology (especially soft tissue and CNS tumors), and advanced research. Although associated with high cost and operational complexity, it offers irreplaceable value in addressing specific complex clinical and research problems by delivering precisely matched spatiotemporal molecular, functional, and anatomical information.

Which populations are suitable for PET/MR examination?

1. Individuals with a history of tumors or a family history of tumors

In addition to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, regular PET/MR examinations are recommended to develop the habit of timely evaluation of overall physical condition.

2. Individuals undergoing health screening

Populations such as high-level professionals, those under significant life stress, and individuals experiencing physical overexertion are advised to undergo regular PET/MR examinations to screen for potential health risks.

3. Patients with cardiovascular diseases

PET/MR can determine myocardial viability and provide an objective basis for deciding whether surgery is required. It is an essential examination prior to treatments such as myocardial infarction revascularization and blood flow reconstruction, and can also support treatment evaluation.

4. Patients with neurological disorders

For localization of epileptic foci, PET/MR is superior to other imaging modalities; it also serves as a unique imaging method for diagnosing conditions such as depression, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease.

PET/MR Examination Procedure

1. Appointment

Schedule the examination time (PET/MR and PET/CT appointments can be made within <24 hours; telephone booking is available).

2. Registration

Receive instructions and precautions, measure height, weight, and blood glucose, and sign the informed consent form.

3. Medical History Collection

Please bring previous imaging data such as CT, MRI, and ultrasound, as well as laboratory and clinical treatment records. The physician will inquire about the condition and treatment history.

4. Radiotracer Injection

An intravenous line is first established (in the injection room), followed by administration of the tracer at the injection window. After injection, rest quietly for 45--60 minutes.

5. Scanning

Prepare as required, including appropriate water intake before the examination. Empty the bladder, remove all metal objects, and cooperate during the scan. The duration is generally 40--60 minutes; fast sequences may take approximately 30 minutes.

6. Post-scan Waiting (in the resting room)

Wait in the resting area for notification. The physician will perform a preliminary image assessment, and you may leave only after being informed. Some individuals may require delayed scanning and should wait an additional 30--60 minutes.

7. After the Examination

Drink more water and urinate frequently to promote tracer excretion. Avoid close contact with sensitive populations (pregnant women and children) on the day of examination. Collect the report at the designated time using the appointment form.

Core Features and Advantages of Siemens 3.0T 64-ring PET-MRI (Biograph mMR)

1. Integrated Synchronous Scanning

The world's first integrated PET/MR system, with PET detectors embedded between MRI radiofrequency coils, enabling isocentric and same-volume synchronous scanning of PET and MRI.

2. High Soft-Tissue Resolution

MRI provides superior soft-tissue resolution compared with CT, clearly demonstrating lesion details and supplying anatomical information for precise tumor diagnosis.

3. No Ionizing Radiation

MRI involves no X-ray radiation exposure, making it particularly suitable for children and patients requiring multiple follow-up examinations.

4. Superior Spatial Resolution

Simulation studies confirm that the Siemens mMR system demonstrates excellent spatial resolution performance with the lowest scatter fraction.

5. Early Detection of Micro-Lesions

The combination of high sensitivity and specificity enables early detection of small tumor lesions, improving diagnostic accuracy.

6. Rapid Whole-Body Acquisition

Whole-body acquisition can be completed within 50 minutes, with dedicated high-resolution sequences for major organs of the head, neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis.

7. Multi-Disciplinary Clinical Applications

Widely applied in the early screening and diagnosis of malignant tumors, neurological disorders, and cardiovascular diseases.

8. Research Support Capability

Equipped with specialized coils and sequences to support clinical research and advanced tumor screening requirements.
