On June 19, 2025, the "2025 Precision and Individualized Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Conference," organized by the Guangdong Pharmaceutical Association and co-hosted by Jinshazhou Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, was held in Guangzhou. The conference brought together leading domestic and international experts in breast cancer to engage in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as breast cancer surgery, radiotherapy, and precision targeted therapy, providing a high-level platform for clinical practice and academic research exchange.
At the start of the conference, Secretary Wang Yuandong of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine Jinshazhou Hospital delivered the opening remarks. In his address, he emphasized the importance of standardized treatment and innovative research in the field of breast cancer radiotherapy, and called on both the academic and clinical communities to strengthen collaboration in order to drive technological breakthroughs and translate academic findings into clinical practice, ultimately providing patients with more precise and individualized treatment plans.
The conference brought together prominent domestic and international experts and scholars in the fields of breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and radiotherapy, including Professor Rebecca Chin from the Icon Cancer Centre, Australia, Professor Sofia Rivera from Institut Gustave Roussy, France, the conference chair Professor Liao Ning, Professor Wang Yongsheng from the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Shandong First Medical University, Professor Lu Jiade from Heyou International Hospital Group, Professor Zhang Junyi, President of the Guangzhou Anti-Cancer Association, and Professor Wang Yiming, advisor to the Guangzhou Tumor Radiotherapy Quality Control Center. The experts shared and discussed advances in regional treatment of breast cancer, hypofractionated radiotherapy, and the latest developments in precision radiotherapy, highlighting the conference's academic depth and professional impact.
During the session on regional and radiotherapy treatment of breast cancer, the discussions focused on technological refinement and the deepening of clinical applications. Vice President Wang Yang of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine Jinshazhou Hospital presented on the impact of MRI-Sim on the development of adaptive radiotherapy techniques for breast cancer. Professor Wu Xin shared insights on the current status and future directions of breast cancer radiotherapy. Professor Wei Xiaping delivered a focused presentation on quality control throughout the full process of precision radiotherapy for breast cancer.
At the closing ceremony, Vice President Wang Yang of Jinshazhou Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, serving as conference chair, delivered the concluding remarks. He highlighted that the hospital has recently added two additional TrueBeam radiotherapy systems, bringing the total to three. Equipped with dynamic tracking and high-precision image guidance, these systems further enhance the accuracy of radiotherapy while protecting surrounding healthy tissues. Wang Yang emphasized that the hospital will continue to leverage its technological platforms and clinical experience to advance precision radiotherapy for breast cancer and to strengthen multidisciplinary treatment approaches.
The conference further promoted the exchange of academic achievements in the field of breast cancer both domestically and internationally, and provided valuable references for the clinical practice of precision radiotherapy. As the co-organizer, Jinshazhou Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine will continue to strengthen its disciplinary development and academic collaboration, continuously improve the precision and comprehensive treatment of breast cancer, and provide patients with higher-quality medical care.
